Anniversary: Steuart and I haven’t been
on a vacation in 5 years and didn’t think we’d get away to celebrate our
25th wedding anniversary. Then we were rescued by dear friends, Jim & Linda
Davis, who agreed to help us out by critter-sitting the 23 cats and 12 dogs,
after our critter sitter retired and another was disastrous. So, knowing our
pets were in good care and that Pete and Kelly had the gorillas set, we
returned to Las Hadas in Manzanillo
(photo left), Mexico for 6 days in early October. We
honeymooned there in 1982, after Steuart was intrigued more by the location
than Bo Derek in the movie “10,” which was filmed there. It was just as
lovely as we remembered, even though the area had built up substantially
over the years. We had a special dinner to celebrate the actual anniversary
and had two waiters, who took great care of us. Their names were José and
Oliver(!). Photo right shows Oliver on the left and José on the right. I
