Today,
Gorilla Haven lost another good friend. David Stites was the owner/founder
of Semco, a local steel engineering company, who engineered and helped
design the steelwork of our villas. In a month, he was going to start
putting up the outer cages of Bonz and Pitchou villas, and while progress
has been painfully slow at times, the work, once done, was always excellent.
Last Sunday, Mother's Day, David was driving to pick up some flowers, when he was in a car accident with his beloved truck. We got the news first thing Monday and thought he'd be ok, even though we were concerned when we heard he'd been airlifted to another hospital, which meant he was more serious than the local hospital felt comfortable addressing. The news that he died this morning came as a sad shock to all of us at Gorilla Haven. We will always remember David as in this photo, standing proudly next to his faithful old truck.
David was involved in Gorilla Haven from the earliest days and over the years he's been a good friend and he will be missed by all of us here at Gorilla haven.
